Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup vanilla whey protein powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • ½ cup smooth natural peanut butter or any nut butter
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup raisins or chocolate chips, craisins, or preferred add-in
  • 2-4 tablespoons liquid such as almond milk, milk, or water

Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Sturdy spoon or spatula
  • 1 Airtight container for chilling and storage

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, vanilla whey protein powder, ground cinnamon, and chia seeds.
  2. Stir well with a spoon or spatula until all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Add the smooth natural peanut butter, raw honey, and vanilla extract to the bowl.
  4. Stir vigorously to combine all ingredients until a thick, somewhat crumbly mixture forms.
  5. Fold in the raisins or your preferred add-in, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Slowly add the liquid, 1 tablespoon at a time, using your hands to mix until the mixture comes together into a sticky ball that holds its shape.
  7. If the mixture is too dry, add a little more liquid; if too wet, add a tiny bit more oats or protein powder until the desired consistency is reached.
  8. Roll the mixture into approximately 12 uniform balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  9. Place the rolled balls in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow them to firm up.
  10. Serve chilled and store any leftovers in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

Notes

Feel free to customize your add-ins! Try chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or different dried fruits.
If the mixture is too sticky to roll, chill it for 10-15 minutes before rolling. If it's too dry, add a tiny bit more liquid.
Store these snacks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
